Description:
A shopping arcade, mall and green roof garden (Jardum das Oliveiras, with 50 olive trees) located in the Praça de Lisboa (formerly an open, triangular plaza). The site was once the location of the Mercado de Anjo (1839-1952), a partially covered market. The Passeio dos Clérigos is a commercial space of 10 shops connecting to the Lello Bookstore and Clerigos Tower. The Passeio (passage) is a walkway that cuts through the Praça mall building, holding up the roof garden, and creating the two principle commercial masses within the structure. It was a 6 million euro investment by the city to rejuvenate what had been an underused plaza. (Source: Archquisition [website]; http://archquisition.blogspot.com)
